In Honor of a Cure for Breast Cancer

A presentation piece created by Peb. The original was given to the family compliments of Peb at the "A Night for Noah" fund raiser held at Laurel Race Park on February 13. It was brilliantly reproduced and used as the cover for the program that evening. The event was graciously organized by Chick Lang and Fran Raffetto. Noah is battling cancer and has lost a leg to that disease. Chris was the 1994 champion ARCA rider and presently is one of the top trainers on the Maryland circuit. Chris's father Phil, a former jockey is a steward in Maryland. The entire racing community is outpouring support to this brave family as Noah vows to be a rider in spite of this set back.

"L 'Etalon Vert" Property of Marléne Brodie. An original masterpiece by Peb. His first and only painted fiberglass horse created especially for Equine Advocates.

This project was arranged through Lynne Veitch whose friendship with Peb was developed during participation in a tour of French Race Courses conducted by Peb and Eddie Arcaro.

"L 'Etalon Vert was painted at Jeffrey Tucker's Stone Bridge Farm in Schuylerville NY. During the Fasig Tipton Select Yearling Sales it was displayed at the Humphrey Finney Sales Pavillion where a press conference was held and Major Ken Klotz presented Peb with the Keys to Saratoga.

"L 'Etalon Vert" was auctioned at the Equine Advocates annual Awards Dinner in August of 2003. Marléne Brodie, owner of Gallagher's Steak House, 228 West 52nd St. New York City and The Oyster Bar located in Grand Central Station was the successful bidder at $31,500.

All the proceeds were contributed by Equine Advocates toward the rescue of unwanted and slaughter-bound horses. "L 'Etalon Vert stands at Mrs. Brodie's upstate NY farm, Gallagher Stud.

In April of 2005 he will be shipped south where he will occupy the first stall in an exhibit of Peb's art at the Midway Thoroughbred Theatre.
